We will show you the steps of how to identify your compatible distant control or keypad for your garage door opener.
The First thing you have to know is the brand name of garage door opener.
The second step to find the compatible remote control is to identify the color of the smart button of your logic board. An example smart(learn) button is indicated here:
The smart button is a square or round button (red, purple, green, yellow ) near the center of the logic board. If you have an older model of garage door opener, then you will see a set of dip switches that are used to program your opener instead of a smart button.
Below you will see a reference to the different models of Chamberlain or Liftmaster garage door opener remotes:
Smart Button | Opener | Remotes | KeyPads |
Amber | Security Plus | 971LM,973LM | 976LM |
Purple | Security Plus(ERT) | 371LM,373LM | 377LM |
Green | Rolling code series | 81LM,83LM | 66LM |
Dip Switches | Dip switches | 61LM,63LM | 66LM |
The problem here is that some of those remotes controls are no longer available, But there is some great replacement for all those remotes and keypads.
LiftMaster 375LM Universal Remote Control or 375UT Mini transmitter compatible with the most type of LiftMaster-Chamberlain-Craftsman Garage Door Openers. Universal Keyless Entry 387LM is a great replacement for almost any existing garage door opener.
